Suspects get away with cash in Anchorage bank robbery

Two suspects robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Anchorage on Tuesday evening, making off with what the FBI called an "undisclosed amount of cash."

One of the suspects had a gun, but no one was injured during the robbery at the Wells Fargo branch on 5740 DeBarr Road, the FBI said in a statement emailed by Staci Feger-Pellessier, an FBI spokeswoman.

Anchorage police responded to the robbery at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, said Renee Oistad, a spokeswoman with Anchorage Police Department.

Oistad said Wednesday the case falls under FBI jurisdiction, and she could not provide additional details.

An official with the FBI Wednesday evening who would not provide his name refused to say whether either of the suspects had been taken into custody.

The FBI asked anyone with information to call them at 907-276-4441.
