Anchorage police nab alleged coffee shop robber

A man who robbed a local coffee shop at gunpoint early Friday night has been arrested, according to Anchorage police.

Police did not name the suspect in a brief release stating the robbery was still under investigation.

Shortly before 5 p.m., "a caller reported a robbery (at) a coffee shop near Tudor Road and Old Seward Highway," the statement says.

The caller told police the suspect had a gun and demanded money.

The suspect ran away southbound on foot; officers tracked him to a nearby location where he was arrested, police said.
