Troopers seek tips on Wasilla pickup theft

Alaska State Troopers are looking for the person or people who stole a truck from a Wasilla driveway and crashed it in the Butte on Christmas night.

The 2013 Ford F-150, worth roughly $37,000, was reported missing from a home on Moyen Ruelle Court just before 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a troopers statement.

Authorities found the truck in some trees near the intersection of Plumley Road and Butte Road, which is about 15 miles away from where it was stolen, said Beth Ipsen, troopers spokeswoman.

The owner may have left his keys in the ignition, she said, and police don't think anyone tried to force the vehicle to start.

If you have any information about the theft, please contact Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 907-745-3333 or Alaska State Troopers at 352-5401.
