The body of an unidentified person was discovered Saturday afternoon in "a tight little spot" next to a storage building on Spenard Road between 29th and 30th avenues, the Anchorage Police Department reported.
Police were still investigating the scene Saturday night and hadn't yet released the victim's gender or any further details.
"So we don't know if there is foul play or if it's a natural death or what," said Lt. Dave Parker.
The temperature the night before had dropped below freezing.
"It was in a very confined area and not visible to the public, so you can make your own assumptions," Parker said.
