Anchorage man caught smuggling alcohol, weed to dry village

An Anchorage man was arrested Monday for trying to bring 10 bottles of alcohol and more than a half-pound of marijuana to a dry village near the mouth of the Kuskokwim River, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Rex Rohan, 43, was arrested with the 245 grams of pot and the 750-mililiter bottles while he was waiting for his flight from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Kwigillingok, according to troopers.

The state's Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team heard that Rohan would have the alcohol and marijuana from an anonymous tip, said Beth Ipsen, troopers spokeswoman.

Rohan was taken to the Anchorage Correctional Complex with a bail of $3,300, according to Courtview. Rohan's bond has been posted and he is no longer in custody.
