Semitruck strikes pedestrian on East Tudor Road

A man walked into the road in front of a semitruck on Tudor Road early Wednesday and was seriously injured, Anchorage police said.

The man “entered the roadway in the path of a westbound semi” on East Tudor Road near McLean Place just before 5 a.m., police said. The driver called police and stayed on scene, according to police.

The pedestrian was brought to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear why he was in the road and police said the investigation is ongoing. No charges or citations were immediately filed, they said.

The westbound lanes of East Tudor Road were closed Wednesday morning between Baxter Road and Defiance Street.
