Motorcyclist seriously injured in downtown Anchorage vehicle collision

A man was thrown from his motorcycle after a vehicle collision this week in downtown Anchorage, sending him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Anchorage police said in an online update that officers responded to the crash at C Street and West Sixth Avenue around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday. Based on initial information, the motorcyclist was heading east on Sixth Avenue when he collided with a Tesla driving south on C Street, police said.

The man, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and taken to the hospital, police said. Another man who was a passenger in the Tesla — which had four occupants total — was also taken to the hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, police said.

Police said that the cause of the crash and who had the right of way remain under investigation.
