A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday evening when their motorcycle collided with a car on Lake Otis Parkway, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
An initial investigation suggested that a Chevy Spark traveling east on East 56th Avenue was turning left onto northbound Lake Otis when it was struck by a BMW motorcycle traveling southbound, police said in an online statement.
Police and Anchorage Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene shortly before 7 p.m., police said.
The man who was driving the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with injuries that police described as life-threatening.
The man who was driving the Chevy received minor injuries and was evaluated on-scene by paramedics, police said.
Police said the collision was still under investigation, and that no charges had been filed.
A portion of Lake Otis was closed in both directions for several hours Friday night.
