A significant portion of the Tour of Anchorage Trail in Far North Bicentennial Park will be closed later this month for clearing operations ahead of the installation of three new bridges this summer.
The stretch of trail from just south of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the intersection near the Campbell Airstrip Trailhead will be closed from April 17 to 30.
From June 18 to Sept. 1, the same stretch of the trail will be closed while three bridges are replaced.
The official detour travels east on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Tudor Road and over to Campbell Airstrip Road, moving south to the trailhead.
Other access points are available, including west to Elmore Road and going south to the Smokejumper Trailhead and east into Far North Bicentennial Park.
