A Mirror Lake Middle School student was arrested Friday after making a gun threat against the school.
According to principal Alli Susel, the Chugiak school got the Anchorage Police Department involved and determined that despite the threat, there was no danger to the school.
“We take these threats seriously, and it is important to us to be open and clear when these situations arise,” she wrote.
A police spokeswoman said Friday evening that additional information about the incident wasn’t immediately available.
In a separate incident Wednesday, an 18-year-old student at West High in Anchorage was arrested and jailed on charges of second-degree terroristic threats after threatening a shooting at the high school, according to officials.
