Traffic on the southbound Seward Highway near the Dimond Boulevard overpass was diverted for about two hours Wednesday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash involving injuries, police said.
Officers were directing southbound Seward Highway drivers to exit at Dowling Road, and police encouraged drivers to use alternate routes during the closure. Police said just before 6 p.m. that all lanes of the highway had been reopened.
The cause of the accident wasn’t immediately available, a police spokeswoman said.
Roads in the area were snow-covered Wednesday afternoon, and the National Weather Service said up to 10 inches of snow was expected to fall in the Anchorage area overnight.
