Update, 3:50 p.m.: Anchorage police say a woman found unresponsive on the ground last month was identified with the public’s help on Thursday afternoon.
Original story:
Anchorage police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman involved in an ongoing death investigation.
The woman was found at nearly midnight June 1 in the area of Ninth Avenue and Ingra Street after police responded to a report of an adult female lying on the ground, according to an Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman. Officers began CPR before medics arrived, took over life-saving measures and took the woman to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
Nothing suspicious was found at the scene, and the death is not considered to be suspicious in nature, police said Thursday.
The woman was described as 5 feet 4 inches tall with a very slender build. Police said her ethnicity was unknown but possibly Hispanic or mixed race. She had distinctive tattoos, which police shared photos of.
Anyone with information about the woman’s identify can contact Sgt. Reynolds at rayne.reynolds@anchorageak.gov in reference to APD Case 22-17729.
