Ice skating returns to downtown Anchorage

The Anchorage Downtown Partnership is reopening an ice skating rink at Town Square Park for the first time in several years.

The rink officially opened Monday, although some enterprising skaters were enjoying the ice over the weekend.

Anchorage Downtown Partnership executive director Amanda Moser said she hopes the rink encourages people to come downtown and support Anchorage businesses using curbside and to-go service.

To stay COVID-19-safe while skating, people are encouraged to wear face coverings and keep a distance from others not in their household.
