Q: What steps should ASD take to improve its career and technical education curriculum?

SEAT A

Kai Binkley Sims

I would like to see increased focus on opportunities for middle school students to discover their academic and career interests and get them connected to King Tech or our specialized High School Academies.

Margo Bellamy

Continue to support the rich curriculum at King Tech High School and continue to build strong industry partnerships to enhance the career options and post secondary choices for students.

SEAT B

David Nees

I have always favored career training as only 30% of ASD students will go on to college. I favor a European apprentice program, but do not like the Board policy of requiring apprentices on construction jobs funded by ASD. The current dual credit system works well but should not use BSA funds for tuition.

Starr Marsett

We need to look at equity across the district in providing career and technical classes so all students have the same opportunity. I would like to see a second King Tech High School.

Ronald Stafford did not respond to the survey.
