Glenn Highway crash near Northway Mall sends 4 to hospital

An injury collision closed the Glenn Highway in East Anchorage on Friday morning, police said.

A police dispatcher said four people were taken to hospitals, but there was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.

It wasn't clear how many vehicles were involved in the collision at Airport Heights Drive near Northway Mall, as officers continued to investigate. The wreck was first reported by police around 10:30 a.m.

The crash initially closed the Glenn in both directions, but police reopened first the highway's outbound then inbound lanes by about noon.
