The Seward Highway was closed in both directions for about an hour Wednesday evening at its intersection with the Alyeska Highway near Girdwood due to a vehicle crash, Anchorage police said.
The Anchorage Police Department said in a brief statement just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that the highway was “shut down” for a crash at the turnoff onto the Alyeska Highway that leads to Girdwood. Police said in an update at 5:30 p.m. that both lanes were once again open.
The crash involves injuries, police said.
