Coast Guard searching for a missing Yakutat-bound plane

The U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday was searching for an overdue plane with three people aboard that left Juneau on Saturday headed to Yakutat, officials said.

A pilot and two passengers were on board the 1948 Beach Craft Bonanza, according to an online report from Alaska State Troopers.

The identities of the three people were not immediately clear.

Search efforts near Fairweather Mountain Range were coordinated with the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center and troopers, the Coast Guard staff said in a social media post.
