Anchor Point woman killed in head-on collision on Kenai Peninsula

An Anchor Point woman traveling as a passenger in a pickup died Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision on the Sterling Highway, Alaska State Troopers said.

The collision also seriously injured the drivers of the truck and car involved in the collision, troopers said.

Carol Spracklin, 57, was a passenger in a northbound Chevrolet truck that crossed the center line and struck a Saturn Sky sports car near Anchor Point around 5:25 p.m., troopers said.

Spracklin died from her injuries, and the truck’s driver was transported to an Anchorage hospital with serious injuries, troopers said. The driver of the Saturn was airlifted to a Soldotna hospital.
