President Joe Biden has nominated Rasmuson Foundation President and CEO Diane Kaplan to be a member of the board of directors for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
The nomination was announced Wednesday by the White House.
Kaplan is the first Alaskan to be nominated for the board, which was created in 1967 to support public radio and TV stations across the United States.
The nomination is subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Kaplan was named president and CEO of the Rasmuson Foundation, Alaska’s largest philanthropic organization, in 2001 and is scheduled to leave the foundation in 2023.
