Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy will hold his weekly community briefing on COVID-19 at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The briefing will feature a presentation on face masks by Dr. Anne Zink, the state’s chief medical officer, and Dr. Joe McLaughlin, state epidemiologist. Commissioner Adam Crum of the state Department of Health and Social Services will discuss the state’s nursing and long-term care facilities.
Additionally, representatives from the state’s restaurant and hospitality industry — including Sarah Oates, CEO/president of CHARR; Silvia Villamides, executive director of AK Hospitality Retailers; and Kati Capozzi, president/CEO of the Alaska Chamber of Commerce — will discuss how Alaskans can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Also participating in the briefing are Anna Frick, DHSS research analyst, and Kim Spink, DHSS nurse consultant.
