Alaska’s minimum wage will rise to $10.19 per hour in 2020 after an automatic adjustment for inflation, the Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced Wednesday.
The state’s minimum wage is currently $9.89 per hour, and the 30-cent rise comes about because the Anchorage consumer price index increased 3% in 2018, the department said.
Voters in 2014 passed a ballot initiative that requires automatic inflation adjustment.
