June is Pride Month and there are a number of Anchorage events happening. There are also Pride celebrations and gatherings happening in Seward, Homer, Soldotna and elsewhere across the state.
Spenard Pride Market
11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 8; 1317 W Northern Lights Blvd.
Grassroots Fair Trade Store and Dos Manos Gallery present this market featuring works from queer artists and allies. There are plenty of artists and vendors and even a photo booth.
Pride Artist and Maker Pop-up Market
4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12; Grow North Farm, 3601 Mountain View Drive
This community organized market is a way to support local QTBIPOC & QT artists. In total there will be more than 15 vendors and creators at the market.
Pride Bar Crawl
4 p.m. Saturday, June 22; Avenue Bar, 338 W 4th Ave.
The 7th annual crawl includes stops at the Avenue Bar, Pioneer Bar, Tent City Taphouse, the Broken Blender and more. Twenty percent of the event’s proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project. The crawl includes exclusive drink specials and freebies at the stops. Individual tickets are $20 and tickets for those in a group are $15 each.
Rainbow Run 2024
6 p.m. Tuesday, June 25; Delaney Park Strip, W 10th Ave. and N St.
Pride or rainbow-themed costumes are recommended with prizes awarded for best team, most creative, Alaska Pride, most original, and most colorful costume. There will be entertainment and beverages at the finish line and an afterparty at The Raven. Also a virtual 5K for those who would like to participate in the week leading up to the in-person event. Cost for either option is $40.
Rainbow Remix Youth Dance
7-11 p.m. Friday, June 28; The Nave Spenard, 3502 Spenard Road
A Pride-filled dance for LGBTQIA2S+ youth and allies ages 14-18. DJ Mx MIXX provides the music and tickets are $10.
Anchorage Pride Parade
11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29; Delaney Park Strip, 1001 W 9th Ave.
The Anchorage Pride Parade returns to make a trip around the Delaney Park Strip before the Anchorage Pride Festival kicks off. Presented by Alaskans Together Foundation, groups can register to participate in the parade. The cost is $40 for LGBTQ+ groups $60 for non-profits and $100 for organizations of businesses that are for-profit.
Anchorage Pride Festival

With a theme of Northern Rights, the 2024 Anchorage Pride Festival includes local vendors, food trucks, musicians, drag artists, and celebration of LGBTQ2IA+ community members.
Viva Pride 2024 Doom Haus “True Colors”
7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29; Williwaw Social, 609 F St.
The official after-party for Pride Festival includes a drag show featuring from Krustyna Clown, Lamia Monroe, Elle Emerald, Misty May and headliner Gigi Monroe. A dance party will follow with DJ Fan Service providing beats and music all night. Tickets start at $20 with full tables available.
Pride Resource & Health Festival
Noon-5 p.m. Sunday, June 30; Identity Health Clinic, 307 East Northern Lights Blvd.
This event features free health screenings and testing, free community classes, information on sexual health and prevention information, tobacco prevention and community PrEP education. There is also a needle exchange.
Underground Pride
Noon-7 p.m. Saturday, July 20; Alaska State Fairgrounds, 2075 Glenn Hwy.
Even though it’s held in July, Underground Pride is a major event promoting “acceptance, joy, and community unite in a vibrant celebration of love and diversity.” The Queen’s Guard invites is hosting the 5th annual gathering, complete with drag shows, local goods and food.
