PALMER — A blustery day at the Alaska State Fairgrounds greeted competitors on the second day of competition during the Alaska Scottish Highland Games, which has been taking place for 42 years.
“The Alaska Scottish Highland Games is a celebration of all things Scottish,” said emcee Meghan Card. “One of our headliners is the field events, the traditional sports of Scotland, like the Caber and Hammer toss. We also have other Scottish events like piping and drumming. Just a lot of fun, a lot of community, very family-friendly, lots of things to see and hear and do.”
