Letter: What a world

Alaska’s Legislature cut $480,000 for free school lunches for poor children out of the state’s budget, but opted to continue a $100 million tax break for Hilcorp.

The owner of Hilcorp, Jefferey Hildebrand, is worth nearly $14 billion. According to the Legislature, he really needs that tax break, but poor kids don’t need to eat lunch. That says a lot about the world we live in.
