Broadway Alaska announces shows for the 2024-25 season

Broadway Alaska has announced a trio of shows for its 2024-25 season to be presented at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Anchorage.

Entering its second season, Broadway Alaska was formed as a partnership between the ACPA and The Nederlander Organization, a 110-year-old theater production and management company founded in Detroit.

The new season starts with “Mean Girls,” which will run from Dec. 4-15. The hit musical was created by a talented group that includes Tina Fey, of “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” who wrote the original 2004 film that the musical is adapted from. (A movie based on the Broadway musical was released in January.)

“Beetlejuice” is scheduled to run from Jan. 29 to Feb. 9, 2025. This musical gets its roots from Tim Burton’s classic 1988 movie starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder.

The final show of the season is “Tina — The Tina Turner Musical,” which runs from April 2-13, 2025. Penned by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall, the show follows the rise of Tina Turner, known as the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll.

Subscriptions for the shows go on sale May 7. Individual tickets will be available starting in late summer for “Mean Girls” and in the fall for the other two productions.
