Alaskans and veterans honored those who gave their lives in service to their country from the Alaska Veterans Memorial at Byers Lake in Denali State Park, to Fort Richardson National Cemetery, and the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery among other places through out the state, the real reason for the three-day Memorial Day weekend.
