Although it's too late to enter the timed 5-mile run, girls and women can still entered the untimed 5-mile and 1-mile events in Saturday's Alaska Run for Women.
As of Thursday, 4,592 people had signed up and donated $124,863 to the race, which raises money for the fight against breast cancer.

There is no entry fee, but a $25 donation is recommended. Since 1993, the race has raised more than $4 million.
Participants in the 1-mile event will leave the Sullivan Arena parking lot at 8:30 a.m. The timed 5-mile run begins at 8:45 a.m. and will be followed by the 5-mile untimed event at 9:05 a.m. and the untimed 5-mile party wave at 9:20 a.m.
The race is limited to girls and women, although men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer can also enter.
