Photos: South Anchorage High mid-year graduation

Kylee Smith, Nathanial Roberts, Kimberley Mulkey and Jacqueline Milian-Ceballos receive their diplomas at a mid-year graduation ceremony held Thursday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2015, at South Anchorage High School. Eight South students completed graduation requirements early, with four attending the small ceremony in the school library featuring a color guard, performances by the string ensemble and the swing choir, and remarks by Principal Kersten Johnson-Struempler and Anchorage School District Superintendent Ed Graff.

"Look at this not as an end point, but as a milestone," said Graff. Johnson-Struempler advised her graduates to "be true to yourself, and pursue your dreams." Quoting the late playwright Wendy Wasserstein, she advised the four, "Don't live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable."
