First customers are greeted by employees as they enter H&M for the clothing retailer's grand opening at noon on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Dimond Center in Anchorage. About 1,200 waited in a line that snaked back and forth outside the south entrance to the mall and encircled the skating rink inside before arriving at the new store that occupies two floors at the southeast corner of the mall. A ribbon cutting, gift bags and DJ Spencer Lee added to the festivities. Shopper Valerie DeMarzo got in line at 10:30 a.m. and responded emphatically "Yes!" when asked if the wait was worth it. Why? "The clothes!" she said. "They're cool!"
