Championship contenders are determined in semifinal games at 3A and 4A March Madness Alaska on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Sullivan Arena. The Barrow boys are back in the state finals following a decade-long drought. On Saturday, they'll face three-time defending 3A boys champion Monroe Catholic after they rolled over Grace Christian 48-42. Barrow defeated Anchorage Christian 50-40. In 3A girls action, Valdez, ranked second in the state by coaches, will face the top-ranked Sitka Wolves after they beat the Hutchison Hawks 49-36 in state semifinals action Friday. The title game will be Sitka's first since 2012, when it lost to Galena in overtime. As for 4A girls, West Valley routed Colony 50-32 and Dimond romped over Ketchikan 71-46. On the boys side, West and East Anchorage will face off for the 4A championship, as they did recently in the Cook Inlet Conference tournament.
