Alaska Democrats swap House candidates in bid to replace Rep. Bob Lynn in South Anchorage

There's a new Democratic candidate in the South Anchorage House race to replace Republican Rep. Bob Lynn.

David Gillespie announced Thursday that local Democrats had named him to replace Bill Goodell. Goodell ran unopposed in the August Democratic primary for House District 26 but withdrew later.

Gillespie will face Republican Chris Birch, a former Anchorage Assembly member who defeated Lynn in the GOP primary.

Gillespie has lived in Alaska for nearly 30 years; he's worked in shipping and animal care and currently works at Alaska Glazing, a construction contractor, according to his campaign website.
