Bedard explores partnership with Indian film company

Alaska-born actress Irene Bedard is reported to be in negotiations with Red Heritage Media, a company owned by the Catawba Indian Nation of South Carolina.

Bedard's Sleeping Lady Films/Waking Giants Productions is involved in several projects, including a possible film of "Two Old Women." Her company would collaborate on documentaries and short stories as well as television and movies based on Native American themes.

Red Heritage Media is getting into cinema in a big way. The company has plans to build a $350 million movie studio campus on 124 acres of tribal land. The project will include a hotel, a school for film and music and a new tribal cultural center.
