Troopers make 4 arrests in Kenai-area meth sweep

Four people have been arrested in the wake of a three-week investigation by Alaska State Troopers of methamphetamine distribution in the Kenai area.

Results of the investigation, conducted by Soldotna-based members of the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit, were announced by troopers in a Wednesday dispatch.

"The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 32.2 grams of methamphetamines, 1.2 grams of heroin, prescription pills, cash, and firearms," troopers wrote.

Troopers also listed charges against the four defendants in custody, including three Kenai residents.

Richard Paul Morrison, 36, was arrested on five third-degree and four fourth-degree counts of misconduct involving controlled substances, or MICS. He was also charged with one second-degree and two third-degree counts of misconduct involving weapons.

Sidney Paul Clark, 32, was arrested on one count of disorderly conduct, as well as two fourth-degree counts and one fifth-degree count of MICS.

Chelsea Mansfield, 23, was arrested on two fourth-degree counts of MICS, as well as one count each of violating conditions of release and providing false information to a peace officer.

A Nikiski resident, 42-year-old Rudy Bongolan, was arrested on third-degree and fourth-degree MICS counts, second- and third-degree misconduct involving weapons and providing false information to a peace officer. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant for violating his parole.

All four were arrested and remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility, as troopers' investigation continues.
