Reporter James Halpin joined the Daily News in 2007, covering public safety and breaking news. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Alaska Anchorage and interned with The Associated Press' Anchorage bureau.
Previously, Halpin served five years in the Marine Corps and was stationed in California; Okinawa, Japan; and North Carolina.
