A bank in Midtown Anchorage was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon by a man in a mask, according to the FBI.
The Northern Skies Federal Credit Union at 400 W. Benson Blvd. was robbed at 2:12 p.m. A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, face mask, blue jeans and gloves entered the bank and demanded cash from two tellers while brandishing a small pistol, authorities said.
Police described the man who robbed the bank as between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing between 250 and 300 pounds. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and hasn't been arrested.
