The FBI is seeking three people in an Arizona-to-Missouri drug trafficking ring that has been under investigation for two years, saying at least one of the suspects has ties to Anchorage.
According to an FBI statement from the bureau's St. Louis office, the three people being sought are William L. Gavin, also known as "Chill Will," as well as Leaha M. Hazza and Brian Knight.
"(Gavin) is the alleged head of the (drug trafficking organization)," bureau officials wrote. "He is associated with the 49 BAD Bloods, one of the most violent street gangs in St. Louis, Missouri. He is considered armed and dangerous and is known to socialize with prostitutes. Gavin lives in both the St. Louis, Missouri area and the Phoenix, Arizona area. He also frequents Anchorage, Alaska where he has relatives."
The bureau said Hazza and Knight live in Phoenix and work as drug couriers within the group.
The bureau has been investigating the group in conjunction with the Anchorage Police Department, as well as the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Albuquerque Highway Patrol.
Over the last two years, drugs and money seized during the investigation -- most of which the FBI says were being taken from Phoenix to St. Louis -- include 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of heroin, 4.75 pounds of marijuana and about $28,000 in cash. One of the kilograms of cocaine was seized in the Anchorage area, wrote Rebecca Wu, a spokeswoman for the FBI's St. Louis office.
Investigators also believe Gavin "facilitated the delivery" of 120 pounds of marijuana and 16 kilograms of cocaine to St. Louis from Phoenix, in a series of trips between February and April 2015.
Anyone with information on the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to call the FBI in St. Louis at 314-280-6128.
