South junior midfielder Talon Stanley, who helped the Wolverines to an unbeaten run through their first 14 games, has been named Gatorade Alaska boys soccer Player of the Year.
Stanley delivered eight goals and seven assists in South's first 14 games (11-0-3).
"He's strong and athletic,'' said West coach Kalel Kuehn in a press release. "He has a really good shot, but he knows when he needs to give the ball up. Just a very smart player and leader on his team.''
Stanley owns a 3.94 grade-point average and has volunteered in youth soccer programs, at a homeless shelter and with community clean-up initiatives.
