Trooper déjà vu: Woman busted for unlicensed driving twice in 1 hour

An Alaska State Trooper arrested a Kenai woman Friday, after spotting her on the road almost immediately after issuing her a citation for driving without a valid license on the Seward Highway.

The trooper first made a traffic stop on 48-year-old Yvonne Montgomery just before 11 p.m. Friday, at Mile 110 of the Seward, according to a Sunday dispatch.

"Montgomery was issued a misdemeanor citation for (no valid operator's license), and she parked her vehicle at a parking lot near the scene to be picked up by a licensed driver," troopers wrote. "At about (11:40 p.m.), the same state trooper observed Montgomery driving again northbound on the Seward Highway near Rabbit Creek Road."

In the wake of the initial stop, troopers had learned that Montgomery actually had a California driver's license -- but it was revoked. As a result, the trooper took Montgomery into custody during the second stop for driving with a revoked license.

She was subsequently released on her own recognizance.
