Prep baseball: Chugiak, Service, South, East post victories

Chugiak 2, West 1

Brady Lindberg's game-winning RBI single in the sixth inning lifted Chugiak to a 2-1 win over West in a Cook Inlet Conference baseball game Saturday at Mulcahy Stadium.

The game was tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. Matthew Hess got the Mustangs started by reaching base with a double and moved to third base on an error. Lindberg's hit drove him home.

Chugiak led 1-0 after one inning when Brian Wing scored from third base on a dropped third strike by the West catcher.

West's Sean Ducey had two hits and an RBI that tied the game in the fifth inning. The Eagles outhit Chugiak 4-2.

South 9, Dimond 0

Tommy Koloski struck out 10 and South's offense generated seven extra-base hits Saturday at Mulcahy Stadium in a 9-0 CIC baseball win over Dimond.

Koloski, a right-hander, limited Dimond to four hits over seven innings.

Leading South at the plate were Sladen Mohl, who belted a three-run homer and drove in two more runs with a single, and Jonny Homza, who hit a double and a triple and scored twice.

Service 12, Eagle River 5

Raleigh Pigg drove in four runs for the second day in a row, boosting Service past Eagle River 12-5 in a CIC baseball game Saturday at Mulcahy.

Pigg, who also racked up four RBIs in a Friday win over Bartlett, had two hits and two runs for the Cougars. He was one of three batters to draw a bases-loaded walk in Service's five-run second inning.

Tristan Woods contributed three RBIs and two hits and Chris Malagodi added two RBIs for Service.

Eagle River's Kamryn Williams and Jared Froslie each finished with two hits, one RBI and one run.

East 14, Bartlett 4

East pounded out 18 hits Saturday to cruise past Bartlett 14-4 in a CIC baseball game at Mulcahy.

Ryan Solberg was 4 for 5 and Jalen John and Dalton Conti were both 3 for 3 to lead the assault.

Eight players got hits, seven drove in runs and seven scored runs for the Golden Bears. Carl Gatter led the way with four RBIs and Gaten Davis drove in three.

Leading Bartlett were Seth Hinson with two hits and John Thompson with two runs.
