A South Anchorage collision between trucks Friday morning left one person injured and one driver cited, with northbound lanes of Jewel Lake Road blocked at Raspberry Road for under an hour.
Police reported the crash shortly after 8:15 a.m. Tow trucks were clearing the scene at about 8:45 a.m., and Jewel Lake was reopened by 9 a.m.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in a statement that two pickups were involved in the collision, including a green Chevrolet S-10 that was headed east on Raspberry and making a left turn onto Jewel Lake northbound.
"The green truck failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a white pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Raspberry Road; the white pickup was traveling through the Jewel Lake intersection on a green light," Castro wrote.
"Following the collision, a female passenger in the green truck was extricated and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."
At the scene the white truck, in the intersection facing north, had damage to its front while the S-10, in one of Jewel Lake's northbound lanes just north of the intersection, had extensive passenger-side damage.
Castro said the S-10's driver was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic as well as not having a valid driver's license.
