Anchorage police are investigating an armed robbery early Wednesday at a Mountain View convenience store, hours after a similar robbery at a sandwich shop in East Anchorage.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in a statement that police arrived just before 3 a.m. at the Holiday gas station on the 4000 block of Mountain View Drive. No injuries were reported in the robbery, but the male suspect remained at large.
"It was reported that (the suspect) entered the store, produced a handgun and demanded money from the cashier," Castro wrote. "The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash."
The same Holiday store was also hit in an armed robbery early Monday. Castro couldn't immediately say whether Wednesday's robbery was related to that case, or the robbery of a Subway restaurant at 701 Northway Drive, which was robbed by a lone gunman in the same fashion at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. No arrests have been made in the Monday or Tuesday robberies, she said.
"We have not ruled out that all three are not related," Castro wrote.
Police ask anyone with information about either robbery to contact either APD at 907-786-8900, or Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or its website.
