Girls prep soccer: Wins for Dimond, South, Eagle River

Dimond 3, Service 0

Erica Heil delivered two goals, Malia Lyken scored on a penalty kick and the Dimond girls generated a strong defensive effort Monday night to earn a 3-0 Cook Inlet Conference girls soccer victory.

Heil opened the scoring and Lyken furnished a 2-0 lead. The Lynx strung together a series of passes — Alison Shafer, Darby Judd and Lyken furnished those relays — to set up Heil's second goal.

South 5, Chugiak 1

Megan Currier had a hand in every Wolverines goal Monday night in a 5-1 CIC victory.

Currier scored two goals and set up three others. Sofia Velez bagged two goals and Natalia Cole added a goal, and Abbi Osgood and Jordan Foraker contributed assists.

Eagle River 3, Bartlett 2

Eagle River raced to a three-goal lead, withstood Bartlett's comeback and pocketed a 3-2 CIC win Monday night.

The Wolves used goals from Mallory Garbe, Jordan Meredith and Veronica Stewart to seize a 3-0 advantage before Bartlett's Danielle Vanord scored twice in the final 10 minutes. Corina Froehle assisted on one of Vanord's strikes.
