What to know about Saturday's Alaska Heart Run

As of Friday evening, the Alaska Heart Run, which benefits the American Heart Association, had raised just over $281,000 toward its $290,000 goal for 2016.

The run, in its 38th year, is back at the Alaska Airlines Center on Saturday for the second year.

When: Registration and bib pick-up, 7:30-9 a.m.; survivor photo, 9 a.m.; 5K timed run, 9:30 a.m.; 5K/3K untimed run/walk, 10 a.m.; awards ceremony, 10:30 a.m.

Where: Alaska Airlines Center.

Parking: UAA north parking lot (shuttle available), UAA west campus central lot (shuttle available), UAA library main lot, UAA library northeast lot, UAA health sciences building lot, King Career Center parking lot (shuttle available), Providence parking garage, handicap parking at Alaska Airlines Center parking lot. Note: No parking in hospital patient parking lot.

Registration fees: Adults, $30, untimed 5K; children, $15, untimed 5K (No race-day registration for timed race).

Defending champions: Jake Moe 15:25.6; Hallidie Wilt 17:37.4 (also won in 2013 and 2014).

Medals/awards: Top five male, female and Mended Hearts overall runners; top fundraising and participation trophies for schools and teams; individual top five fundraiser awards; prize drawings for Alaska Airlines tickets.
