Prep soccer roundup: Results from Thursday's matches

South boys 5, Service 3

South found a late edge to defeat Service 5-3 in a back-and-forth CIC boys soccer match Thursday at Service.

Service scored first before South responded with a Talon Stanley penalty kick goal in the first half.

Fisher Rogers brought the lead back to Service with a breakaway goal. The Cougars led 2-1 at halftime.

South tied the match and took its first lead on goals from Andrew Depaepe and Black Hepler, respectively, in the second half.

But Brady Graff, Service's go-to scorer on set pieces, evened the match at 3-3 with a penalty kick score.

South finally took the lead for good with late goals by Adam Skelton and Britton Clifford.

Dimond boys 3, Chugiak 1

An action-packed second half led to a 3-1 Dimond win over Chugiak on Thursday in a boys soccer match at Dimond between CIC foes.

Chugiak took a 1-0 lead midway through the second half on a goal by Tanner Chandler, assisted by Daniel Odgen.

Dimond tied the match in the 67th minute on a goal by Nathan Dickhaus, assisted by James Curro.

Five minutes later, Dimond's Steven Aguillar fed James Curro the ball for the go-ahead score.

The Lynx clinched the match with four minutes remaining with a Dickhaus goal from Riley Stephens.

Niko Latva-Kiskola had seven saves in the box for the Lynx. Dimond improved to 4-1-1 in Cook Inlet Conference play.

Dimond girls 8, Chugiak 0

Dimond's first home match of the season ended in an 8-0 CIC girls soccer victory over the Chugiak Mustangs.

Two goals each by Erica Heil and Malia Lyken led the way.

Also scoring for Dimond were Darby Judd, Allison Shafer, Kelsey Eagle and Teighan Drake.

Bartlett boys 2, East 0

Midfielder Lorenzo Froehle used his head to punch the Golden Bears past East 2-0 in Cook Inlet Conference boys soccer action Thursday at East.

The senior captain headed home two goals in the second half on assists by senior attacker Abdi Zirah and junior defender Malcolm Dunbar to secure Bartlett's third straight win.

Junior Daylan Barganier, who left the match with a back injury at 60 minutes, and senior defender Tico Bejarano combined for Bartlett's shutout.

Bartlett girls 1, East 0

Bartlett edged East 1-0 Friday in a Cook Inlet girls soccer match at East.

Corina Froehle booted the goal off an assist from Danielle Vanord.
