The UAA track and field team secured two more NCAA provisional times Saturday at the Beach Invitational in Cerritos, California. The meet was UAA's third in three days.
Distance runners Caroline Kurgat and Joyce Chelimo finished 13th and 14th respectively in the 1,500 meters. They both earned provisional qualifying times.
Kurgat finished in 4 minutes, 31.58 seconds — good for fifth in Division II this season — and Chelimo crossed in 4:32.78.
The distance duo went into the day coming off Friday races in 5,000, where Chelimo broke the UAA record in 15:59.55 and Kurgat earned a provisional time of 16:30.85.
Next up, the Seawolves will compete April 22 at the Triton Invitational.
