Here's a date to put on your dog-loving calendar — Saturday, April 16, is Scoop the Poop Day in Anchorage. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers will be on hand at two of the city's most popular unleashed dog parks — University Lake and Connor's Bog — to assist the public in getting a winter's worth of neglect off the trails.
While the most responsible dog owners clean up throughout the year, consider this a Get of of Jail Card for those who may have missed some during the year. Even if you happen to be one of the responsible dog owners who cleans up without fail, the blight on our parks is a reflection on all dog lovers. Let's stand together and make a difference.
