Girls basketball: East, Dimond, Chugiak post wins

East 82, Bartlett 52

Sandin Kidder pumped in 25 points Wednesday — 13 in the first quarter — to spark East's 82-52 win over Bartlett in a Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball game at East.

Also giving the T-birds a boost were Octavia Hines (15 points), Jasmine Richard (11), Kalo Uhila (10) and Daisy Page (10).

Brandee Hawley paced Bartlett with 20 points, and Damayia Ward and Carrington Townes each provided eight points.

Dimond 68, South 42

Alissa Pili's double-double and Whitney Shapp's game-high 23 points carried Dimond to a 68-42 win over South in a Cook Inlet Conference basketball game Wednesday at South.

After a close first quarter at South High, Dimond outscored the Wolverines 23-8 in the second quarter to lead 34-17 at the half.

Pili finished with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Though she and Shapp were the only players to reach double figures for the Lynx, seven others contributed points.

Isabel Babiak dropped in 15 points and Nani Garner added 12 to lead South.

Chugiak 59, Service 18

Nicole Pinckney and A'yanna Tippins combined for 30 points Wednesday, propelling Chugiak past Service 59-18 in a CIC game at Service.

Pinckney led all scorers with 16 points. Service was led by Meshelle Giles' six points.
