Michael Tetzner held off Ken Chezik in the open race of the Alaskan Sled Dog & Racing Association's club championships Sunday at Montana Creek.
Tetzner drove a 14-dog team to a 20-second margin over Chezik in the two-day race.
Tetzner won Saturday's 15-mile heat in 43 minutes, 42 seconds, and topped Sunday's in 43:28. That gave him a total time of 1:27:10. Chezik clocked 1:27:30.
Third place went to Jason Dunlap (1:30:46), fourth went to George Attla III (1:32:05) and fifth went to Marvin Kokrine (1:32:41).
A total of 14 mushers entered the open race.
In the eight-dog limited class, Kourosh Partow dominated both 10-mile heats to top the 13-musher field in 55:10. Tetzner finished second in 57:52, followed by Jerry Woods in 58:16.
Dawn Brown took the six-dog championship with a two-day total of 47:57. Partow finished the pair of eight-mile heats in a combined time of 48:38 to place second.
Grabbing the four-dog title was Pam Schamber, who made two six-mile runs in a total time of 32:39 to beat Kim Wells, who clocked 33:13.
