The former Democratic press aide who quit his job with a searing resignation letter criticizing his former bosses has started a new political blog.
Frank Ameduri, whose resignation letter accused Alaska's Senate Democrats of complacency, is the owner and publisher of Grinder News.
Ameduri didn't respond to phone messages, but making laws is often compared, unfavorably, to making sausage, and in an introductory post, he called Grinder News "a news, policy and government blog." It will offer hard news, which Ameduri calls "fine grind," analysis and commentary, or "medium grind," and satire and humor, or "coarse grind."
Ameduri, a former editor and publisher of the Alaska Budget Report, wrote that he will be in Juneau beginning Sunday.
Grinder News joins a growing ecosystem of blogs covering Alaska news and politics, with other recent entries that include the Midnight Sun, a joint venture between former GOP operative Casey Reynolds and political consultant Jim Lottsfeldt, and a website published by Craig Medred, a former columnist for Alaska Dispatch News.
A widely read political blog by reporter Amanda Coyne shut down last year when she took a job working for newly elected U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan.
