Prep basketball: Results from Tuesday's games

West girls 61, Eagle River 25

Theyoung Puoy rattled off 18 points, Martha Thor chipped in 11 and West cruised by Eagle River 61-25 in a late Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball game Tuesday at Eagle River.

Puoy scored 10 of her points in the first quarter and the Eagles jumped out to a nine-point lead. They commanded the came from there.

Shade Gopie and Saraya Willis led the Wolves with five points apiece.

Dimond girls 82, South 46

Freshman Alissa Pili racked up 22 points and nine rebounds Tuesday night to power Dimond past South 82-46 in a CIC girls basketball game at Dimond.

Alexis Shipman added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Lynx.

South got a boost from Nani Garner's 16 points and Morgan Lash's 14.

Dimond boys 43, South 38

Dimond rode an early lead to a 43-38 win over South in a low-scoring Cook Inlet Conference basketball game at Dimond.

Eric Jenkins and Jesse Boese each dropped in 11 points and Jenkins grabbed eight rebounds for the Lynx, who led 17-8 after one quarter.

Alex Adams tallied 12 points and seven rebounds to lead South.

Neither team shot well — Dimond hit 31 percent of its shots and South hit 37 percent. The Wolverines were hurt by 17 turnovers.

West boys 54, Eagle River 36

Da'Zhon Wyche and Sean Duffy each grabbed eight rebounds to go along with double-figure scoring Tuesday in West's 54-36 CIC boys basketball victory over host Eagle River,

Wyche also provided a game-high 20 points, with 12 of them coming on 3-pointers, and Duffy added 13.

Leading the way for Eagle River were Ryan Adkins (10 points) and Aaron Davis (nine rebounds).

Chugiak girls 56, Service 21

Hannah Russell's 15 points led a balanced scoring attack that lifted the Chugiak girls to a 56-21 CIC win over visiting Service on Tuesday.

A'yanna Tippins and Kassidy Murfin added nine and eight points, respectively, for the Mustangs.

The win was the second in two nights for Chugiak, which edged West 37-32 on Monday. Nicole Pinckney tossed in 16 points and Eva Palmer chipped in 11 for Chugiak, and Theyoung Puoy scored 16 for West.

East boys 75, Bartlett 54

Moses Miller pumped in 28 points Tuesday in East's 75-54 CIC boys basketball win over Bartlett.

The visiting T-birds, who controlled the boards throughout the game, outscored Bartlett 22-8 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Marquis White finished with 19 points for East, and Bartlett got a big game from Bentiu Panoam, who also scored 19. Kage Freelove added 10 points for the Golden Bears.

Service boys 55, Chugiak 46

Service overcame a slow start to stop Chugiak 55-46 in a CIC boys basketball game Tuesday in Chugiak.

Nathan Fromm led all scorers with 21 points for Service. Derryk Snell topped Chugiak with 13 points.

Chugiak led 7-5 after the first quarter but Service gained control in third quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 19-11 to take a 40-31 lead into the fourth quarter.

East girls 59, Bartlett 34

Octavia Hines and Sandin Kidder teamed up for 26 points Tuesday to spearhead East's 59-34 CIC girls basketball victory over Bartlett.

Hines scored 14 points and Kidder 12.

Leading the way for Bartlett was Brandee Hawley, who scored nine points.
